It's not often I conclude this about individuals who head up international Catholic organizations, but this character Joseph Shaw is either a closet Modernist or a very unintelligent man. Does he really believe that the FSSPX issue is simply about the TLM? Is he not aware that Archbishop Lefebvre and the Society have opposed all of the heretical and false teachings of the Council since the FSSPX was established and that Vatican II is the issue that divides the Conciliarists and the FSSPX? Even a school child understands that the TLM is almost an aside with the Pope and the Conciliarists. Certainly they want to suppress it, but that's an issue they can deal with at any time. Indeed, if they could make the FSSPX go away (which they won't), the FSSP would be ordered to cease and desist celebrating the TLM almost immediately.
